At first look, these minor tricks may not be doing wonders for the computer’s performance. But doing it often will improve computer speed and performance.

Run Disk Cleanup

Your computer has many files that you don’t use. Disk cleanup helps you to free up your drive space.

Search “Disk Cleanup” in the Windows search bar, then select Disk Cleanup from the results.
Select the files and folders you’d like to clean up and select OK.
The dialog box will close after cleaning the selected files.

Disabling Startup Programs

Some apps start when you start the computer. With the help of the Windows task manager, you can select those you want to run in the background and disable the unnecessary ones.

Right-click at the Taskbar, then select Task Manager.
Once the Task Manager opens, select the Startup tab.
Select the program (s) you’d like to disable and select Disable at the bottom of the window.
Disable all unnecessary programs to improve computer speed and performance.

Increase the Ram

Ram determines the speed of your computer. The more it is, the faster the performance of your computer. The computer can be changed to increase the size of the ram, but with a laptop, it is not possible.

Protect it from viruses and malware

Viruses and malware affect your computer. It decreases the speed and performance of the computer. Sometimes they also corrupt the system files. So it’s essential to save your computer from them to improve computer speed and performance. Windows 10 has powerful defender software, which protects it from the virus. Also, there are many other antiviruses available that add an extra layer of protection to the computer.

Remove unnecessary software

Remove any apps that you don’t use. Running them in the background is a waste of your computer’s power. Your computer has a lot of software that you don’t need and they are doing nothing more than eating your system resources. Have a close look at all those apps and software and if you don’t need them, just uninstall them.

Restart the computer

Restart your computer often to improve the speed and performance of the windows.
