Every day is an opportunity to find a better version of ourselves, and a new year comes with 365 of them. I know last year was not good, things didn’t turn out as planned. Yet we are breathing, is this not an achievement?
Every new year comes with its excitement and surprises. Some of us make and some break resolutions, but how many sticks with them. We make plans every year, but how many do we follow? Think about it.
It is your life, so take responsibility for it. If there are bad habits, get rid of them, if you lack knowledge, get them, if you don’t have money, work for it, if relationships are not working out, be open about it. No one is going to do all this for you, it’s you who have to figure this out.
Here are a few you can try. This new year, let’s do something different, Something good.
1. Be with genuine people– Try to be with people who understand and respect you. Don’t be with those who dominate you. We all need companionship, but relations that come with terms and conditions don’t last long.
2. No to negativity – Don’t indulge yourselves in negative thoughts or negative people. This includes your family, friends, and colleagues who spread negativity and drain out positivity. Our mindset is guided by our surroundings, so it’s better to cut out negative people before being one of them.
3. Get rid of bad habits– you know it better than anyone else., We know it’s bad for us, but we still do it. For example, if you smoke, this is the year to get rid of it. It’s tough, but you have to do it.
4. Spend more time with dear ones- We take people and relationships for granted. We are so busy with our own life, that we don’t think about others. We work for them, but we don’t spend time with them. Is it good? Try to set aside at least one day this new year for them, to play, eat, and enjoy with them.
