This masterpiece by Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli was released in 2001.

Chihiro, while moving to her new neighborhood, enters the world of spirits. Meanwhile, Chihiro’s greedy parents are turned into pigs by the witch Yubaba.
In order to free herself and her parents, Chihiro finds a job at the bathhouse run by YubabaShe also loses her real name and takes a new name, Sen.
Here, she met a boy called Haku, who too had lost his identity. She not only finds her identity but also that of Haku, and she even frees herself and her parents too. It is the story of courage, determination, and hope portrayed by Chihiro, written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki.
2. Your Name (2016)
Your Name, written and directed by Makoto Shinkai and released in 2016, is one of the highest-grossing anime movies.
It tells the story of two high school students, Taki and Mitsuha. Without having been met in person, they are able to swap bodies with one another unwillingly. At first, they bring trouble into one another’s lives.
In order to meet her personally, Taki comes looking for Mitsuha. Since he doesn’t know her village’s name, he sketches her village’s landscape from his memory. In his search for the village, he finds out that the village was destroyed by a comet three years ago.
The story doesn’t end here; there is still a chance of saving her and the village, and this is where the real story starts. To know the ending, you have to watch it.
3. The Tale of Princess Kaguya (2013)
It was co-written and directed by Isao Takahata and released in 2013.
A tiny girl is found in a bamboo stalk by a bamboo cutter, and he and his wife raise the girl. She grows up into a beautiful woman, and suitors flock to win her hand. To her five suitors, she asked them to complete a series of impossible tasks in order to marry her.
Tasks like bringing the Buddha stone begging bowl and a jeweled branch from Mount Penglai, the fireproof skin of a fire rat, a dragon jewel, and a shell charm from a swallow’s nest.
One day Kaguya told her parents that she came from the palace of the moon, and soon her people would come to take her. The emperor had to fall in love with her and try his best to stop her. But in the end, Kaguya returned to the palace of the moon.
