When One is not prepared or is not sure of the outcome, then they experience nervousness. It is also due to a lack of confidence and patience. This causes fear in our minds which is quite visible to everyone.

Nervousness or Anxiety comes into everyone’s life. We all have experienced it. Anxiety, butterfly in the stomach, and nail-biting are some examples of it. Nervousness happens because of fear or anxiety.

What causes nervousness?

Nervousness is caused due to overthinking and that leads to fear and anxiety. Also, getting out of my comfort zone or doing something for the first time causes nervousness.
Nervousness can be overcome, it is not so tough. So when is one nervous? One answer is that when one feels incompetent or lacks confidence.

During public speaking, never be in a hurry. Take your time. Breathe in slowly and feel the oxygen inside you. It will calm your mind. Do it for a couple of minutes, until you will feel confident and ready to speak.

2. Try to visualize it

Visualization plays a vital role here, so never see yourself as weak or defeated. You are nervous when you give more emphasis on your weaknesses than your strengths. Visualize your strengths and achievements. Think about all those successes, you have achieved or will achieve.

3. Forget the results

The main reason for nervousness is that you think a lot. you are too concerned about the results rather than the preparation. When you perform well, your expectancy increases and this makes you more nervous. Therefore, you should not focus on the results and keep on doing your job.

4. It is normal

Don’t just say it, believe it too. Nervousness is a mandate when you try something new. Or when you step out of comfort. But this helps. It helps you to grow and develop. So don’t think too much about it.

5. Believe in yourself

Life is uncertain. The future can’t be predicted. Yet, you can prepare for it. Practice as much as you can. The more you practice, the less nervous you will be on the stage

6. Be motivated

When you lack confidence, you feel nervous. So, Don’t doubt yourself or your abilities. Believe in yourself and motivate yourself. Listening to motivational podcasts and songs uplifts your mood and spirit.

7. Don’t keep to yourself

Friends and family are there to support you. If you are in a problem, talk to them. Don’t keep it all to yourself. Ask for their guidance and advice. There are many ways to look at the same things.
