On the other hand, for self-motivation, you don’t always require a gadget. You only need a clear mind and a few instances of overcoming your challenges and fears. You have to tell yourselves that you have been through difficult stressful situations before also and you have overcome them. The same you are going to do now. Self-motivation is not time-bound
It stays for a longer time. For example, you are having your exam tomorrow and you don’t feel like giving it. You are not confident about it. To get some motivation, you watched some motivational videos. But how long will the motivation stay? External motivations are not everlasting, they are of short span. They are good for instant motivation but do not have a long-lasting effect. This is why self-motivation is better. It not only gives you instant motivation but also stays for a long. If you motivate yourself for the challenges, no matter how tough they are, you will overcome them.
Self-motivation is more appealing
External motivation is subject-based, they are specific. If you need motivation about a career you will watch motivational videos on it. Not the ones on relationships, and vice-versa. There are so many things that stress us and you may not get videos on all of them. Whereas self-motivation comes from within. You know the cause as well as the solutions to it. When you are aware of yourself and your problems, you can easily solve them
