Importance and How to practice self-love

Before getting into why you need Self-love? Let’s understand its meaning, self-love is showing appreciation and concern towards yourself. Love is not always found outside, sometimes it is within you. To love yourself more than anyone else. to take care of yourself, and to stand for yourself is called self-love.

You might be a person, who loves and respects everyone. But, do you do the same to yourself? Do you stand for yourself, Do you respect yourself? The person, who does not love and respect him/her can’t do it to others. They might be doing it but it is not their best.

WHY SELF-LOVE?

First, to love others, you need to love yourselves, and second, it makes you more of yourself. The power of love is huge, it will make you do things, beyond your limits. Not to forget, it gives you a sense of peace and satisfaction. You enjoy life to the fullest, Self-doubt doesn’t stop you from following your dreams. It is needed for your personal growth, developing healthy relationships, and making your dreams come true

Self-love also means knowing and accepting yourself the way you are. It is to appreciate and be content with what you’ve got in life and also to put it to the best use. Self-love teaches us to live in the moment and enjoy it, rather than worrying about the future.

Some ways to practice it

1. Know yourself– Self-love helps to know who you actually are. It is looking inside you and finding your potential. It is spending some time with yourself and prioritizing yourself above everything else.

2. Live the moment- self-love is living the moment and not thinking about the past or the future. Most of the time you worry about the future or regret the past, instead of enjoying the present.

3. Take care of yourself– Self-love is taking good care of yourself. It is about knowing and fulfilling your basic needs. You are compassionate towards others and yourselves. Some basic things like proper sleep, good hygiene, and regular exercise, you can do to take care of yourself.

4. Being kind– Self-love is to be kind to yourself and to others. We all have aspirations in life and to achieve them, we work hard. But it does not mean being rude to yourself. Also, if your dreams are making you lifeless, you need to think about it.
